Who is Drew & his Crew?
On March 26, 2010, at just 15 years old, Drew Clayborn’s life changed forever. A sophomore at Walled Lake Central High School, Drew suffered a catastrophic C1-C2 complete spinal cord injury while attempting a backflip he had been practicing for the school musical.
Before his injury, Drew was an active student involved in football, basketball, marching band, and other activities. But his injury did not end his story—it gave his journey a new direction.
Drew went on to graduate from the University of Michigan in 2017 and today serves as Executive Director of The Drew Crew, a charitable organization committed to helping people with disabilities and their families.
The Drew Crew helps individuals gain greater independence, connect with needed resources, and overcome some of the financial and practical barriers that can come with living with a disability.
Drew’s story is one of perseverance, purpose, and turning personal experience into an opportunity to help others.
